Another year has passed far too quickly, as we celebrated Connor's third birthday on Sunday. His actual birthday is on the 10th, but we needed to be able
to accommodate everyone, so we moved it up a week so all could join in.
It was a huge success, and Erica again did a great job in orchestrating a "Safari" Red Jeep Party.
Connor's cake was as cute as could be, and he was very excited with all his cousins and friends
joining him. John and Alycia were there, and are getting very close the becoming 'Mommy and Daddy". I expect that famous phone call very soon. Can't wait to meet little Joshua Paul.
They are anxious and excited... I'm sure a little nervous too.
Next week, I am going to take some time off, and hopefully spend a couple of days with Joel and
Robert. Ed is going to start work on the porch, and I will be able to just relax and enjoy being with the boys. I'm sure Joel will be intrigued with the construction project, and Ed of course, will just love showing him all the tricks of the trade. Maybe if the weather is nice. we can visit the pool at Nick and Risty's. I could really use a little fun in the sun...

Today was a "Get ready for Connor's big Day" day. Erica and I ran around picking up last minute things for the big Safari party, which is planned for Aug 3.
She always puts so much thought into the boys events, and I think she enjoys it more than they do...
It's hard to believe that these years have passed already, and this little guy will be turning 3 years old. I remember the day he was born, and the ride home in my Volvo with poor Erica sitting on my sweatshirt, as her water had broken, and of course we had to stop at Harrisons'
Roast Beef for a sandwich before she headed to the hospital. That was such a funny day, and it was certainly not your typical "Get me to the hospital" Ride....
As it turned out, the little guy didn't come into the world until the following day, but was born
healthy, and just adorable. These 3 years have been more fun for me than I can even describe.
I am so in love with all my little boys, and enjoy each moment I get to spend with them. Connor and Joel are at the age where we can really chat now, and that is the best. They are so darn cute, and just come out with the funniest things. They express themselves so well, and can make you laugh yourself into tears..
I was always so eager to become a grandmother, but never knew just how much it would change my life. I am now waiting for number 5, and can't wait to hold him in my arms too.
Mammy and her little men.... I just love the sound of that....

Today, I woke to a beautiful sunny day. After a long week of rain, it was a real treat, expecially
since it was Saturday, and I had the day off. Ed and I had Aunt Lorraine and Phil over for a long
overdue Lobster/Filet fiest. We had been promising them a nice dinner, but had been booked up on the weekends, and so this was the first chance we had to spend a little time together.
We had a really great day. They are so much fun to hang with, and we always laugh like a bunch
of kids...
Erica and Ron took the boys up to York Beach to the amusment park and they had a ball.
Friday, I met them at the park in Derry, and got to finally see what Erica has been talking about
for the past month. The water park is really terrific, and the boys looked so cute splashing around the different sprinkler systems, and sprayers. I would like to take my beach chair and plop myself down there for the day too. Close to home, and lots to watch...
Joel called me this morning, and we had a fun little chat. Told me he was going to Nick and Risky's pool. He loves the water, and it's so wonderful that they are able to use the pool and enjoy their company.
Tomorrow, Ed and I are planning on seeing the X-files, then out to lunch. Trying to spend a little more time with him on the weekends. He tends to get a little depressed when I am not around, and that is not good for us... Still looking for a job, but I feel like this might be the week...
Trying to keep a positive outlook for both our sakes.
Next week we are going to celebrate Connor's 3th birthday. I am just amazed, and a little sad at how fast the time has gone bye. He is growing up so fast, although, I do love this age, and the fact that he can talk to me about things now. Every phase brings new excitment, and a few challenges along the way. I can't believe he will go to Pre school in September. It's going by way to fast... for all of us...
Tonight, it's still beautiful outside. The breeze is blowing through the house, and it's peacful and quiet. This was a great day...

Summer day at the pool.
Today was my yearly, sit by the pool day, with my very dear friend Claire. She is lucky enough
to have a back yard similar to a fine resort. We have been friends for about 18 years, and
despite our busy lifestyles, we set aside a day each summer to just relax and catch up on all
the family events, and just talk about life in general. It's always a wonderful day, and something
I look forward too.
Thank you Claire for another great day..

Another 4th of July
Well the end of the July 4th weekend is upon us, and luckily the weather cooperated for all the long planned gatherings and festivities.
We expected to have a quiet weekend, but as we should know by now, things have a way of changing on a dime.
Friday Ed and I spent the day together. Saw a show and went to dinner. Days like that are so
enjoyable for us both, as we just don't do it as often as we should.
Unfortunatly with the economy being what it is, we think twice before dropping a bundle on fun
things. It's sad that at this point we should be so concerned about that, but we aren't alone in this kind of cutback behavior.
Saturday we had planned a fun day with Connor, who was coming for the day and a sleepover. That turned bad when Erica called to tell me that the poor little guy was sick again.
Instead of a fun day with Mammy and Papa Ed, we spend time back in the dreaded ER.
Another IV, and CT scan, which thankfully was fine. He just can't kick this dare "SuperBug".
Today, so far, he is ok.
Nothing worse than a sick little child. Broke my heart when they had to place the IV. His big tears poured down his pale cheeks, and he just looks at you with such fear in his eyes.
They were able to take him home, and he had a big smile when he walked in the door.
Little Cameron has been fine, and as cute as ever. Smiles all the time. Thankfully, he has not been bitten by this awful bug.. So far...
Well today if Sunday and again, it's a beautiful morning.
I have a short week coming up and hope to see my other little Grandsons, Joel and Robert.
John and Alycia are getting ready to welcome their little guys, and we are all excited about that upcoming event. So much going on, as always.
Hope you all had a great weekend.

Today, is a quiet rainy day and Ed and I are just chilling and watching old movies. Sometimes these days are the nicest of them all. It's long between relaxing days for me, so I do enjoy once
in awhile just putting up my feet and enjoying the peace and quiet.
Erica had her second experience with an ER visit yesterday with Connor. He has a "Super" bug
which started approximately three weeks ago. We all had a touch of it, but Connor seemed to
get slammed the worse. He had his first IV placed, and it was very traumatic as one would expect. His mom had many of those unpleasant visit when she was young, and I'm sure that seeing
Connor go through this was more painful than any of her own memories. It's a hard thing having a sick child, and having to try so hard to be the pillar of strength, when you just want to cry yourself. I am sometimes amazed at how we, as parents get through half the things that we do.
When David and John played hockey, I was always on the edge of my seat, worrying that they would end up hurt. They were lucky, despite a few bumps and bruises. David did break a wrist one time, but in the big picture, that wasn't too bad. John on the other hand, seemed more destined for injury, not so much on the ice, but just in general. Broken bones, stitches, and lots of trips to the MD. "Oh the joys of motherhood"..
Well, I am happy that today, Connor is doing better, and hopefully will continue to get stronger and finally end this Bug thing... Lets hope everyone else can stay healthy...

Starting Now...
A couple of weeks ago, my Daughter in law sent me the most enjoyable story. It was all about the Happenings at 18 Thomas, which is where she lives with my son and 2 beautiful
grandsons.
I thought I might like trying this Blog thing myself.
I have a busy life, but do like keeping in touch with people, and often have not found the time, so "Startingnow", I think I will try this and see how is goes.
I will post soon,
Diane
